Author Guidelines

Submit a proposal

If you are already have an Author username and password for de genere, go to Login.

If you need to obtain an Author username and password, go to Register.

Registration and login are required in order to submit proposals and check submission status.


Submission procedure

To submit an article, please follow the following instructions:

  • register on this website as “author”
  • login and click on “submit a proposal”
  • enter your metadata, as described below
  • upload your article
  • select “Italian” using the dropdown menu and enter your metadata in Italian

Personal metadata will be accessible to the authors at the link “modify your metadata” until the proposal revision is underway.

Metadata marked with an asterisk (*) are required: last name, first name, email address, article title, abstract (in the English and Italian pages).

The deadlines indicated in the Call for Papers are to be considered inflexible. Acceptance of contributions received after the date of the deadline will be at the sole discretion of the editors.


The journal template is available here. Only articles conforming to the template will be considered for peer reviewing.

Maximum length of articles is 40.000 characters. Maximum length of titles is 200 characters.

Article Processing Charges

The journal does not require any payment from the authors for Article Processing (APC) and submission charges.


Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. Your submission has not been published previously, or submitted to another journal (or an explanation is provided in the comments for the editors).

  2. Your file is an OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF format.

  3. Where possible, working URLs for references have been provided.

  4. Your submission has been formatted according to the journal template (available here).

  5. Your article conforms to the Author's Guidelines (available here).


Copyright Notice

The author hereby declares to be the rightful copyright owner of this submission, and grants de genere the right to publish the aforementioned work. The author understands and agrees that de genere may disseminate its content in text, image, and other electronic formats or such other formats or on such other media as may now exist or hereafter be discovered, to end-users in file formats such as pdf, ePub, MOBI and the like, including store apps such as GooglePlay and AppleStore. The author also understands and agrees that de genere may activate a Print On Demand service for the volume.

The author is also aware that this agreement allows s/he to publish the aforementioned text autonomously, both electronically and on paper, with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.

Permission to publish is granted to de genere free of charge.
